Porsche Schweiz AG is donating the entire auction proceeds, equivalent to 185,000 Swiss francs, to the Swiss non-profit organization Suisseculture Sociale.
Support for cultural workers
Porsche and the project partners are thus supporting Swiss cultural professionals, whose industry has been particularly hard hit by the Corona pandemic.
All partners of the project - from artist Richard Phillips to RM Sotheby's to the Basel gallery Weiss Falk - waive any commission or fee in favor of the good cause.
Porsche Schweiz AG contributed the Porsche Taycan 4S and other contents of the auction in their entirety. The Taycan Artcar is on display at the Porsche Center Zug until the successful Swiss bidder takes delivery of it.
Visit to the Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen plant
The mobile work of art of Porsche's first purely electric sports car was created in Zurich. The internationally renowned American artist Richard Phillips designed the Porsche Taycan Artcar as a unique piece with the help of the foiling specialist SIGNal Design.
Other contents of the auction also included a customized and exclusive visit to Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, where the Taycan is built.
Special details of the Exclusive Manufacture
The Artcar itself was equipped with additional individualizations by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur: The door sill panels shine with the Queen of the Night lettering, and the door projectors illuminate Phillips' signature on the background when the door is opened.
International interest in the auction
Michael Glinski, CEO Porsche Schweiz AG: "In addition to the donation amount, I am particularly pleased about the international interest we have been able to generate for the important work of Suisseculture Sociale. The amount raised will benefit people in Switzerland who are very much in need of help at the moment."
Template from Swiss painter Adolf Dietrich
For the Taycan Artcar, Richard Phillips transferred his large-format painting "Queen of the Night" onto the body of the Porsche Taycan 4S.
The painting was created in 2010 in reference to the work of the Swiss landscape painter Adolf Dietrich. The work shows a three-dimensional arrangement of elements and details of the painting of about eight square meters.
