Porsche: 356 from 1964 as an art object 🎥
PASSION The collaboration between the Porsche Center Zurich and Swiss industrial designer Alfredo Häberli has resulted in the creation of a unique art object from a 1964 Porsche 356 SC.
In connection with the Porsche 356 SC Art Car project, a collaboration with the Porsche Center Zurich, industrial designer and visual artist Alfredo Häberli likes to talk about the weight of lightness. With the Art Car project, Amag First AG is now creating a link between the Swiss art scene and the tradition-rich sports car manufacturer.
Focus on precision and poetry
Born in Argentina and raised in Switzerland, the artist pursues in his design philosophy the two main themes of precision and poetry, which he can combine well with his origins. The theme of lightness has always occupied the artist.
Alfredo Häberli: "Triggering a lot with few means, achieving a lot of function with little material - I was actually looking for imperfect perfection,"
He worked meticulously with his assistant Dominic Plüer over the curves of the historic Porsche 356 SC. Three shades and about a kilogram of paint were used to paint around 80 percent of the body surface. The end result was a combination of art, craftsmanship and sports car design.
Auction for Children's Cancer Aid Switzerland
With this year's collaboration, the Porsche Center Zurich would like to pay tribute to the historic art of coachbuilding. The exceptional 356 will be on display at various events and exhibitions, and in December it will be auctioned off in collaboration with the Koller auction house. The proceeds from the auction will go to the Kinderkrebshilfe Schweiz association.
Sascha Leardi, Managing Director of the Porsche Center Zurich: "The art of Alfredo Häberli enables new perspectives on design, performance, tradition, art-and, of course, Porsche."
