Pirelli: Exclusive photos from The Cal 2019

Albert Watson, here with model Gigi Hadid, is a photographer for "Vogue," "Harper's Bazaar," "Time" and "Rolling Stone. In 2015, he was awarded the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to the art of photography.
In the new edition of the Pirelli calendar, Albert Watson Watson tells the story of four very different women who are trying to achieve their final dream in life. One of them has succeeded. The Cal will be published in early December.

Every year, people wait in anticipation to see how the new Pirelli calendar will be created. The renowned calendar, which is not for free sale and which is also only given away exclusively to partners in Switzerland, picks up on current social trends every year and captures the spirit of the times. Last year, exclusively dark-skinned models were photographed around the theme of "Alice in Wonderland".

Four women and their ambitious life stories
This year, the cult calendar for 2019 goes in a completely different direction. The focus is on four women and their ambitious life stories; it's all about achieving life's goals. The protagonists are Misty Copeland, the first African-American prima ballerina at the American Ballet Theatre, actress Julia Garner and models Laetitia Casta and Gigi Hadid. Photographer Albert Watson has included a partner at each of the women's sides. Alexander Wang can be seen at Gigi Hadid's side, making him the first fashion designer to be photographed for a Pirelli calendar.
