Nissan: Guinness World Record for fastest drift
Nissan is the new world record holder in drifting: At Fujairah Airport in the United Arab Emirates, Japanese drift champion Masato Kawabata set a new world record for the fastest drift with a modified Nissan GT-R NISMO. At the start of the drift maneuver, the GT-R NISMO was 304.96 km/h fast. This makes Nissan the holder of another Guinness World Record. [...]
Before the record attempt, the 2016 GT-R NISMO was modified by the Japanese tuning company GReddy Trust. Drift expert Kawabata then tested the vehicle extensively at the Fuji Speedway in Japan. The world record attempt took place at Fujairah International Airport, whose three-kilometer runway is long enough for such a challenge.
"Nissan has once again set a Guinness World Record and made history," said Samir Cherfan, Managing Director of Nissan Middle East. "The current Nissan GT-R NISMO is one of the greatest sports car icons in the world, proving its incredible capabilities time and time again. With this extremely difficult world record, Nissan is taking the promise of 'innovation that inspires' to a new level."
