Exchange of experiences: In the paddock at Bernexpo, Sébastien Buemi Country Manager Nissan Switzerland explained some background on Formula E to Claudia Meyer.

Sébastien Buemi is not only driving in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship with zero local emissions and therefore environmentally friendly, but now also in everyday life. In his new role as Nissan brand ambassador, the professional racing driver and family man from Aigle took over the keys to a Nissan Leaf, the most widely built electric car in the world. Claudia Meyer, Country Director of Nissan in Switzerland, was delighted with this new cooperation at the handover ceremony on the fringes of the Swiss E-Prix in Bern.

Claudia Meyer: "With his successes in the Formula E championship, Sébastien has been a figurehead for the sporty side of electric mobility for years. Now, with him, we are gaining an ambassador for the entire brand and its model range, but especially for the Nissan Leaf, which stands for affordable and everyday driving with electric drive like no other vehicle. We are particularly proud of this cooperation, also because Sébastien is Swiss!"

Wonderful extension
The joy is also on the side of the Vaudois, who crowned his home game with a great third place.

Sébastien Buemi: "I'm enjoying my first season as a Nissan driver in the FIA Formula E Championship. Driving a Nissan Leaf as an ambassador for Nissan Switzerland in public transport is a wonderful extension to this. The timing of this announcement in conjunction with the Swiss E-Prix in Bern was perfect. Now I'm looking forward to being able to drive Nissan's electric power on the track as well as on the roads of my native Switzerland in the future."

Where range allows, such as on trips in his home canton of Vaud, Sébastien Buemi will now get behind the wheel of an emission-free Nissan Leaf.
