New company car
VOLKSWAGEN Xherdan Shaqiri saw the new VW Arteon for the first time during his visit to this year's Geneva Motor Show. Even then he knew: this will be my new company car. There are classic saloons. And there are sports cars. Some offer plenty of space and a high level of comfort, while others offer independent design and pure dynamism. The Arteon combines both. [...]
There are classic limousines. And there are sports cars. Some offer plenty of space and a high level of comfort, while others offer independent design and pure dynamism. The Arteon combines both.
Flame new
Last week, the "power cube" was able to take delivery of his brand new company car at Amag Autowelt Zurich in Dübendorf on the national team's journey to the Feusisberg training camp. The Arteon was built on the basis of the Modular Transverse Matrix (MQB). Transverse stands for engines installed transversely at the front. Thanks to the long wheelbase, the MQB creates space for above-average legroom in the rear and a large luggage compartment volume of up to 1557 liters.
Useful assistants
The Arteon's assistance systems match its overall concept. Three of the completely new technologies illustrate this: the latest generation of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) now takes into account speed limits, bends, traffic circles and junctions, among other things, and automatically adjusts the speed. The new dynamic bend lighting with predictive control also uses GPS and road data from the navigation system to recognize when a bend is approaching and illuminates it before the driver actively approaches it.
Safety first
The latest generation of Emergency Assist also offers added safety: if the driver is unwell, the assistant not only brakes the Arteon within the system limits, but now also steers it into the far right-hand lane if the traffic behind allows.
The agony of choice
The Arteon is available in the Basic, Elegance and R-Line equipment lines. There is a choice of three petrol engines from 150 hp / 110 kW to 280 hp / 206 kW and three turbo diesel engines from 150 hp / 110 kW to 240 hp / 176 kW. The price of the new VW Arteon with the 1.5-liter petrol engine with 150 hp / 110 kW starts at 44,300 Swiss francs.
