Saddlers, sheet metal working, painters, but not the usual workshops, but everything that deals with the restoration of classic cars, refiners, artists, lifestyle, gastronomy - the wish list of tenants for the planned Motorworld Manufaktur Zurich Region is long.
Manufacture concept is in line with the current trend
But realistically: Already after the sale of the listed Givaudan site in Kemptthal to MA Kemptthal Besitz AG (a joint venture of the Motorworld Group and Mettler2Invest AG) became known, the planners received the first inquiries. The Motorworld Manufaktur concept is fully in line with the trend: an architecturally valuable factory site is saved from decay, and automotive operators from the classic car sector settle in the old substance and in new buildings. There are also plenty of customers: Switzerland has the highest density of classic cars in the world.
Successful branches in Stuttgart and Cologne
The individual tenants have not yet been determined at this point, and there are no plans or details about the sizes of the spaces to be rented. However, one can get an impression of the mix by looking at the already successfully operating Motorworld Manufakturen in Stuttgart and Cologne. Stuttgart has been operating successfully since 2009, Cologne-Rhineland, which also incorporates a Schumacher World with the collection of the multiple Formula 1 world champion, opened this summer and is experiencing a huge run. Parallel to Kemptthal, a branch in Munich is set to open at the end of 2019, one in Berlin as early as next spring, and Metzingen, also early next year. You have to ride the wave while it lasts.
