Tomorrow: Plus Four CX-T for the really rough stuff

ALTERNATIVE FOR OFFROADERS For all the attacks on the automobile - the fascination with this tool of freedom is fortunately unbroken. And there are always builders' models in which this aspect is far in the foreground. Morgan CX-T
BMW's all-wheel drive system adapts to different ground conditions in the Morgan CX-T.

Now the traditional British brand Morgan has presented the Plus Four CX-T, a special model limited to only eight copies, which combines the characteristics of these genres.

Improvement of off-road properties
The CX-T is based on the still relatively new Plus Four, which has a completely newly developed aluminum structure. The changes are extensive and aimed at coarsened load capacity.

The Plus Four CX-T should be able to carry a lot of luggage. Two spare wheels, tools for recovery and a ground clearance increased to a proud 23 centimeters serve to improve the off-road properties.

Six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive
For the drive, Morgan relies on an all-wheel drive system from BMW that can be electronically adapted to different ground conditions.

Under the long hood is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder of Bavarian provenance that transmits its 258 hp - as befits such a purist car - via a six-speed manual transmission to all four wheels.

The price for the CX-T starts at 200,000 euros
The eight examples, which are offered for the equivalent of just over 200,000 euros each, are probably sold out by now. It cannot be ruled out that Morgan will add more off-road variants in the future.

Those who expressed their interest in a CX-T too late will just have to console themselves with a regular Plus Four.
