Exactly 34 applicants aged 18 to 27 had to convince a jury to nominate them as candidates for Miss Yokohama 2017/18 through appearance, charm and cleverness. At www.facebook.com/yokohama.ch photos of the candidates are posted, which can be liked in a public vote. The candidate with the most likes becomes Miss Online Audience Favorite. The online voting has no influence on the result of the election.
A Fiat 500 60th Aniversary as a company car
Each of the 14 ladies qualified for the final can become Miss Yokohama 2017/18 and look forward to a year full of great encounters: for example, as a coveted photo subject at the Auto Zürich Car Show, experiencing a rally as a VIP guest, or competing as a guest in a round of the OPC Challenge. In addition, the new Miss will drive a Fiat 500 60th Anniversary as her official car during her year in office. The little Italian is a special 60th anniversary model limited to 60 units, which celebrates a round anniversary this year just like the 100-year young tire brand Yokohama.
Yokohama Switzerland CEO Reto Wandfluh, who is working with Dieter Buchstab (get-agency promotion GmbH), the former Misses Jennifer Kleeb, Corinne Koch and the reigning Miss Yokohama Romana Möckli nominated the finalists at the casting: "It really wasn't easy. We are looking forward to what is sure to be an exciting election night."
