With a few simple steps, the interior of the Urbanaut becomes a living room with a lot of comfort.
At the heart of the Mini Vision Urbanaut is the interior. It shows a new vision of space. In just a few simple steps, the interior of the vehicle becomes a living room with every conceivable comfort.
To this end, the front seats have been designed to swivel, and the backrests in the rear can be folded down and swiveled. When the vehicle is stationary, the steering wheel and dashboard are lowered and the driver's area becomes a comfortable seating area. And because the windshield can then be opened upward, the result is a balcony feeling, which improves the sense of space and brings the outside world closer.
A smart device allows access to the Urbanaut - even for a defined group of family and friends. A sliding door provides the only access to the three zones of the interior. The access area, driver's seating corner and rear seating zone are called Street Balcony, Daybed and Cosy Corner in Mini.
Three different usage scenarios
With the three characteristic "mini-moments" Chill, Wanderlust and Vibe, the Urbanaut shows different usage scenarios. Thus, the vehicle serves as a place to linger and relax, as a comfortable means of transportation, or as a meeting place for conversations.
At the heart of these worlds of experience is the so-called token, a handy control element that can be used to initiate the three preconfigured moments.
Grille and headlights in the style of the brand
Despite the great variability of the interior, the vehicle length remains limited to 4.46 meters. Typical for the exterior of the Urbanaut are the short overhangs. Design elements such as the radiator grille, headlights and taillights have been further developed in the brand's style. The grille also serves as an intelligence surface for automated driving.
The Zero Gravity matte finish varies color between metallic green and tinted gray, and the translucent "skateboard wheels" are part of the vehicle's outward communication.
Purely electric drive and fully networked
It goes without saying that the all-electric Urbanaut drives partially automatically. Intuitive digital solutions largely eliminate the need for conventional controls such as switches and pushbuttons, and the familiar mini-round instrument is located in the center of the vehicle.
Sustainability is taken into account by the reduced number of exterior and interior components and the use of many recycled materials. In addition, cork on the steering wheel and on parts of the floor adds a special touch thanks to its pleasant feel.
