Potential participants go through local qualification camps to qualify for participation. From today, the TV channel DMAX will also be showing a four-part documentary of last year's Kavango Zambezi Experience Tour.

The documentary series runs on the following dates:
- Part 1: Sunday, January 26, at 5:15 p.m.
- Part 2: Friday, January 31, at 10:15 p.m. and Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 5:15 p.m.
- Part 3: Friday, February 7 at 10:15 p.m. and Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 5:15 p.m.
- Part 4: Friday, February 14 at 10:15 p.m. and Sunday, February 16, 2020 at 5:15 p.m.
