Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas drives around the streets of the northern Italian metropolis in the racing car of the Alfa Romeo F1 team Orlen. Part of a series of congratulations is the video for the 100th anniversary of the Autodromo di Monza, where Alfa Romeo has celebrated numerous successes.
Homage to Italian motorsport
With this campaign, Alfa Romeo is emphasizing the brand's connection to its home town and the Monza race track in the north of Milan. For Alfa Romeo, it is also a tribute to Italian motorsport.
The Italian Grand Prix has been held at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza since 1922. With his victory at the Italian GP on September 3, 1950, Alfa Romeo works driver Nino Farina secured the first ever Formula 1 world championship title at the wheel of the Tipo 158 Alfetta Grand Prix racing car.
Alfa Romeo's first production facility
Alfa Romeo renewed its close connection to the racetrack with the demonstration drive of the current Formula 1 racer through the streets of Milan. Valtteri Bottas passed iconic places in the metropolis, including Piazza Duomo, Piazza San Babila, Porta Nuova, the central station, the Citylife district and the street in the Portello district, where Alfa Romeo's first production plant was located in 1910. The company that later became Alfa Romeo was founded there under the name Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili (A.L.F.A.).
