The multifaceted program includes numerous highlights: Various 4×4 trails with different levels of difficulty, an exhibition of spectacular concept cars from the Moab Easter Safari and, to top it all off, a surprise concert.
Camp Jeep is the annual meeting of Jeep Owners Group (JOG) members and all enthusiasts throughout Europe. This year, the third edition will take place from June 2 to 5 in Bassella, Spain. And: June 5 is Jeep's actual birthday. On this day in 1941, the first prototype Willys-Overland MA rolled out of the factory halls in Toledo/Ohio.
Since August 2014, JOG has been the only official fan club of the Jeep brand and now counts over 64,000 members from 24 countries in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. This year, around 400 Jeep vehicles and over 2500 fans are expected to experience adventure, fun and outdoor activities in true "Jeep Jamboree" style during the four days of Camp 4×4. Camp Jeep is the largest customer event of a 4×4 brand in Europe.
Concept cars, 75th Anniversary models and historic vehicles
To properly celebrate this special Camp Jeep and Jeep's birthday, the organizers have come up with something special. Two of the most spectacular concept cars from the 50th Moab Easter Jeep Safari will be flown in from the U.S. and will be guests at this year's Camp Jeep. The functional Jeep Comanche with its military look and the V8 high-performance Jeep Trailcat with 707 hp.
Also on show will be the models of the new 75th Anniversary Special Editions celebrating the 75-year history of the Jeep brand. They will be on public display at Camp Jeep for the first time following their premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016. Camp Jeep guests will also have the opportunity to drive all of the brand's current models themselves: from the luxurious Grand Cherokee to the iconic Wrangler, the compact Renegade with the best off-road capabilities in its segment and the striking Cherokee.
In addition to the concept cars, 75th Anniversary models and Mopar vehicles, historic Jeep vehicles represent the marriage of new models and 75 years of tradition: the unstoppable 1941 Willys-Overland MB, the 1949 Willys Wagon as the world's first all-steel SUV, and the 1963 Jeep Wagoneer as the first large "premium SUV."
