Jasmin: Joy arises in the VW Golf TCR

FLOTT ON THE MOVE Jasmin Preisig has been racing a VW Golf GTI TCR at the Nürburgring since 2019. Don't they go well together? In everyday life, Jasmin Preisig will of course drive her VW Golf GTI TCR without helmet and overall - but certainly as fast as it is allowed...

Jasmin Preisig has opened a new chapter in her racing career this year. The Appenzeller is one of three drivers in an all-female team that has chosen the Nürburgring-Nordschleife as its stomping ground. "Girls only! Ready to rock the Green Hell" is the name of both the team and the motto. They drive a VW Golf GTI TCR in the SP3T class, which is otherwise dominated by the men.

Adequate touring car for the Volkswagen ambassador
Volkswagen Switzerland also chose Jasmin as its brand ambassador in the spring. To ensure that she is now also sporty on the road, she is being provided with a standard offshoot with 290 hp. The official handover of the vehicle took place last Saturday at the Hemberg mountain race, where the fast daughter of a garage owner from Schwellbrunn was almost permanently and extremely fast in action as a racing taxi driver.

Jasmin Preisig: "I'm delighted that I can now also represent Volkswagen to the outside world in this way. With the long highway journeys to the Nürburgring, it's nice to have a sporty and comfortable car like the new Golf GTI TCR for the road. After all, I already got to know this racy model during test drives in Portugal in January and was immediately impressed."

Premiere at the Nürburging 24 Hours
The 26-year-old then wants to go even faster next weekend at the Nürburgring 24 Hours. Together with two German teammates, she will be taking part in a twice-around-the-clock race for the first time ever, having already successfully contested many VLN races lasting four to six hours.

In the races so far, the Swiss turned out to be the fastest in the team. She was also able to consistently keep up with the pace of the male competition.

Jasmin Preisig: "I'm excited, especially about driving in the dark. That will be a big challenge for all of us, which we are happy to accept. The goal is to drive cleanly through and not to stress the material. Then a lot is possible. We just want to see the checkered flag."

All only women
And are there really only women at work, in and around the race car?

Jasmin Preisig: "Men only give input when you get stuck. Otherwise, everything is done by women.

Name obliges: The German team "Girls only! Ready to rock the Green Hell" is made up of women. This week sees the season's highlight, the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.
