Two excellent newcomers
A special feature this year are two restaurants that were immediately awarded two stars as new entries: Maison Wenger in Le Noirmont (JU) and Memories at the Hotel Grand Resort in Bad Ragaz (SG) - nota bene as the second two-star restaurant in the same building. For the VP Bank Rally by RAID, this will be the host resort in mid-June 2020.
22 with two stars
The restaurants IGNIV by Andreas Caminada in the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz and in Sankt Moritz have been promoted to the two-star category. Also in Sankt Moritz (GR), Da Vittorio was awarded two stars.
The Zur Fernsicht - Incantare inn in Heiden (AR) also received a second star. In total, the number of two-star restaurants has increased to 22.
Three front runners
The three restaurants that have already been awarded three Michelin stars will retain these awards for 2020 and remain at the top of Swiss gastronomy: the Restaurant de l'Hôtel de Ville in Crissier (VD), the Schloss Schauenstein in Fürstenau (GR) and the Cheval Blanc by Peter Knogl in Basel (BS).
With twelve new one-star additions this year, the total number of establishments recommended in the Guide Michelin Switzerland with this distinction now stands at 97.
Like the two- and three-star restaurants, the establishments awarded one star are now presented in greater detail. This provides the reader with in-depth information about the cooking style, philosophy, atmosphere and specialties of these restaurants.
Bibendum recommends 143 cheap restaurants
The number of Bib Gourmand establishments in Switzerland reflects the vibrancy and diversity of the Swiss gastronomic scene. There are 15 new additions among the 143 restaurants listed in the guide.
This popular award, represented by the face of the Michelin man "Bibendum" licking his lips with relish, recommends restaurants that offer carefully prepared dishes with a particularly good price-performance ratio. A three-course menu (appetizer, main course and dessert) is available for a maximum of 70 Swiss francs.

In the latest edition, a total of 632 restaurants and 215 hotels are recommended. The eateries range from country inns to gourmet restaurants.
