Fiat: The Cinquecento as a work of art 🎥
DIGITAL FIAT ICON With Reverse Again, artist Ron Arad revisits an art project from 2014 in which six historic Fiat 500s took center stage. Now he has created a digital non-fungible token of the model.
With Reverse Again, the British-Israeli design artist Ron Arad refreshes the 2014 art campaign with six Cinquecento models. He created digital non-fungible tokens (NFT) with the new Fiat 500, which are traded on the art platform Shifting Vision.
Reverse Again is linked to the Casa 500 in Turin, a permanent exhibition dedicated to the Cinquecento in the former Lingotto factory.
Auction of tamper-proof data
The electronic works of art will be auctioned off in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFT) as forgery-proof digital data on the Shifting Vision auction platform. Fiat provided the London-based designer with original digital models for the simulation of crash tests. This allowed Ron Arad to continue his cycle of combining manual and digital processes, which he began in 2014 with the exhibition In Reverse.
Since its launch in 1957, the Fiat 500 has fascinated artists and celebrities all over the world. Ron Arad's new project, with which he once again expresses his passion for the Cinquecento, establishes a continuity between past and present, between physical and digital design.
