Drift Academy: Action on ice and snow 🎥

From January 23 to 28, 2021, on various training grounds in Ambri, you will have the opportunity to perfect your personal skills with the new powerhouse Toyota GR Yaris, the GR Supra and the GT86 Race, which is very well known in Switzerland.

A very special feeling at the steering wheel
Yves Meyer from Eventcenter Seelisberg, organizer and professional drifter with international experience, explains what the Snow Drift Academy is all about.

Yves Meyer: "A perfect drift not only looks spectacular, it also feels incredible. Drifting is an unstable state, but it is stable in itself and demands a great deal of feeling and intuition from the driver at the steering wheel and the pedals.

Toyota GR Yaris: 261 hp and 390 Nm, 1280 kilos, all-wheel drive, manual transmission, tires with Nexen Winguard Sport 2

Toyota GR Supra: 340 hp and 500 Nm, 1570 kilos, rear-wheel drive, 8-speed sports automatic, tires with Nexen Winguard Sport 2

Toyota GT86 Race: 200 hp and 205 Nm, 1291 kilos, rear-wheel drive, manual transmission, tires with Nexen Winguard Sport 2.

Training for starters and advanced
The training is ideally suited for beginners and advanced drivers. The course price includes one driver per vehicle, coffee and croissants in the morning, a three-course lunch menu, snacks and drinks. A second driver can be booked at the time of registration.

Practical exercises and drifting techniques
The package of the one-day event includes theory and vehicle presentation, practical driving exercises, drifting techniques, catering, insurance with a 1000 franc deductible, as well as photos and a farewell souvenir.

Prerequisite for a realization are eight or maximum twelve participants (Additional one second driver per driver). The cost per driver is 520 Swiss francs (second driver plus 100 Swiss francs). Participation can also be booked individually.

Cancellations or postponements due to new Covid-19 regulations of the Federal Government and the Canton of Ticino, are free of charge for the participants of the Snow Drift Academy. Illness or quarantine cases are asked to show a certificate in case of rebooking.

Seven hours of pure action and driving fun
And looks the daily routine:

• 9:00 Welcome and theory
• 10:00 Start on three practice areas (circles/eight, handling slalom, braking)
• 12:00 Lunch break
• 13:15 Feedback and theory
• 13:45 Continuation on three practice areas (curve/curve, challenge, braking-pendulum).
• 15:45 Final course
• 16:15 Farewell, Feedback and
• 16:30 End of the event and individual journey home.

Overnight stay in nearby Ambri
At the Motel Gottardo South, participants have the opportunity to book rooms for their overnight stay directly. The single room costs 75 francs and the double room 110 francs, each including breakfast.
