Parents are familiar with the phenomenon: babies and toddlers often fall asleep particularly quickly in the car. In contrast, children often have problems falling asleep at home. In addition, sleep in their own crib is sometimes restless.
Control via smartphone
This also means a reduction in sleep for parents. New mothers and fathers in particular only sleep an average of five hours a night. A real burden. A new crib could soon provide a remedy. Its development was supported by Ford. This very special crib with the melodious name "Max Motor Dreams" can simulate driving noises such as the gentle hum of an engine, the typical movements of a vehicle and the street lighting when driving at night. If required, the functions can be easily controlled via a smartphone app.
Relief for parents
„After intensive discussions with mothers and fathers, we know that parents of newborns are often desperate for a good night's sleep. But the poor parents can't get behind the wheel every night just so that the child can fall asleep peacefully," says Alejandro López Bravo, designer at the Spanish creative studio Espada y Santa Cruz, where the crib was developed with great attention to detail. "The 'Max Motor Dream' can encourage children to fall asleep and thus relieve many people in their everyday lives."
Series production not ruled out
At the moment, the "Max Motor Dreams" crib is still a pilot project. However, following numerous inquiries, the company is already considering producing this unique crib in series.
