BMW: Custom bikes for real connoisseurs
LOOKING UP IS ALWAYS GUARANTEED It was also intended from the outset as a basis for conversions: the BMW R 18. Two exclusive custom bikes are sure to make the hearts of passionate fans of the brand beat faster.
LowRide magazine collaborated with American Dreams on the R 18 M project, while the R 18 Aurora was developed by Garage 221 on behalf of BMW Motorrad Roma.
Typical colors blue, white and red
The R 18 (gallery below) is inspired by the brand's motorsport history and features the typical colors of blue, white and red. The Aurora takes its cues from older cruisers.
For the Aurora, Garage 221 made use of the seat of a BMW R 1200 C from 2005, turn signal holders from a 1982 R 100 and part of the rear frame of a 1991 K 75, among other things, which were remodeled.
For the paintwork of the body parts, the color code of a BMW R 100 RT from 1983 was used. The oil radiator grille is inspired by BMW cars of the sixties.
