On the occasion of the competition for the "Golden Steering Wheel", the Alfa Romeo Giulia was awarded the title. A particularly important prize, won for the first time and adding to the already large collection of international awards with which the Alfa Romeo Giulia has already been honored. The choice was made by the readers of the magazines and a jury of 29 experts. These included rally world champion Walter Röhrl and Sébastien Ogier, DTM champion Mattias Ekström and designer Andrea Zagato.
In 2011, Alfa Romeo was already among the winners of the "Golden Steering Wheel" award, which has been presented in seven categories since 1976, with the "I am Giulietta" advertising campaign. In 2000, the Alfa Romeo 147 was the winner in its category, while in 1995 the Alfa Romeo GTV was awarded the "Golden Steering Wheel" in the "Coupé" category.
