FIRST IMPRESSION The Stellantis Group is stepping on the gas with electricity. The next exciting e-model is in the starting blocks with the Peugeot E-3008 SUV coupƩ - and it has a lot to offer.
The good news first: the new Peugeot E-3008 has a standard range of up to 700 kilometers! And now the bad news: customers will still have to wait for this variant with a large battery. Initially, the futuristically designed fastback SUV will be launched with a 73-kWh battery with a range of 527 kilometers. But even this version is more than sufficient for everyday use.
Radical transformation of the brand
Peugeot CEO Linda Jackson: "The launch of the new E-3008 is an important step in Peugeot's radical transformation to an all-electric brand. The model heralds a new era for the brand with its electric performance, as we are the French brand with the widest range of mainstream electric vehicles on the market."
These are confident words, but the Stellantis platform with 400-volt technology is not the measure of all things.
All-wheel drive variant with two electric motors
At 157 kW (210 hp), the SUV coupƩ is rather modestly motorized at market launch, and the Peugeot is in the front midfield in terms of charging power with a maximum of 160 kW DC. But for those who want more power: the long-range version with 170 kW (230 hp) and a range of 700 kilometers as well as an all-wheel drive version with two electric motors and 240 kW (320 hp) system power will follow later in the year. The E-3008 delivers in terms of design, equipment, material feel and driving experience. The electric vehicle is very pleasant to drive, is firm but not harshly tuned, and the direct steering in combination with the very small steering wheel gives a good feeling of the road.
Freestanding 21-inch curved display
The 4.54-metre-long E-3008 is the brand's first model to be equipped with a free-standing 21-inch curved display, which combines a screen for the digital instruments and a touchscreen for the infotainment system. Below this, the 3008 now also features the so-called i-Toggles, five large, easily accessible and freely configurable touch surfaces for direct access to various functions. They are not only practical, but also look good. And speaking of practicality: despite the fastback roofline, the trunk remains on a par with its predecessor at 520 liters and is also very easily accessible. All in all, the E-3008 is an attractive addition to the steadily growing range of electric cars on offer in Switzerland.
