Distinctive: curved headlamp housings and fog lamps integrated into the bumpers round off the front of the Kia Sportage.

The first impression lives up to expectations, and the exterior appearance attracts attention in road traffic. The body is characterized by the striking radiator grille, which the Koreans call the "tiger's nose", and a strongly shaped hood. But it's not just the exterior of the Sportage that makes an impression. Careful workmanship of the interior, clearly arranged instruments, and high-quality materials for the trim create a feeling of well-being for the driver and passengers. Plastic world adé.

And with a car length of 4.34 meters (Golf class), the occupants, whether in the front or on the rear seats, find comfortable space. Also worth mentioning is the storage space. In normal seat configuration, 503 liters are available, and up to 1500 liters with the rear seat folded down.

Space: Five people sit comfortably in the Kia Sportage in both the front and rear. The luggage for a long trip fits in the trunk.

Five engines to choose from at the start of sales
In Switzerland, customers can choose between two gasoline (132 or 177 hp) or three diesel engines (116, 136 or 185 hp). Michel Rutschmann, Managing Director of the importer KIA Switzerland (Emil Frey Group), assumes that mainly the version with the 185 hp 2-liter diesel in the top GT-Line equipment (including all-wheel drive) will play an important role in this country.

The price spiral starts at 23,950 francs. However, this entry-level version (1.6 liter gasoline engine) is only available as a front-wheel drive and is considered a niche product for Switzerland. The hoped-for top seller costs 44,950 francs after all, but is worth its money.
