Records, records
With this time, the 441 kW/600 hp (factory figures, subject to official measurement) sedan even undercut some of the world's best two-door coupes and supercars.
Road approval in prospect
Mark Stanton, SVO director, said, "The goal of the SVO designers and engineers was to build the most road-legal, race-legal Jaguar in the company's history - and not just the fastest, but the most agile. As a result, only the roof and front door panels were carried over from the production XE, and 75 percent of all mechanical components were changed."
Exploring boundaries
John Edwards, managing director, Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations, added: "SVO was created to push the boundaries in performance, luxury and all-terrain traction. The hand-built XE SV Project 8 takes that primacy to the limit by squeezing the performance of a supercar out of Jaguar's most compact sedan."
