Porsche: Geneva wins Classic Restoration Challenge

In addition to Geneva, the Porsche Centers in Lugano, Zug and Zurich also competed, as did the Porsche Service Center Schinznach-Bad, which came second. The task of the five teams was to partially or completely restore a classic vehicle within twelve months. These included a 911 Coupé in light ivory from 1967, a 911 T 2.2 from 1971, a 911 S 2.2 Targa in light yellow from 1971 and a 911 Targa from 1977. The Porsche Center Geneva came out on top with its restoration of a 911 S 2.0 in light ivory from 1969.
Restoration effort of 2165 working hours
The aim of the competition was to get as close as possible to the delivery condition of the respective vehicle through restoration. The following categories were included in the evaluation: Restoration of the vehicle's original condition, depth of restoration and vehicle condition, documentation of the restoration process and vehicle history, and marketing and communication. The technical condition was given the greatest importance. A jury of experts examined the bodywork, drivetrain and chassis in particular. The jury awarded the highest prize to the 911 S 2.0, which the Geneva team restored from the ground up in 2165 hours of work. It scored 902 out of a possible 1000 points.
