After a total of 37 bids and ten minutes, the final price of the collector's item was determined. As part of "RM Sotheby's - The Porsche 70th Anniversary Auction 2018", the "911 Turbo Classic Series" was auctioned off at the Porsche Experience Center Atlanta (USA).
The vehicle, which was built on the basis of an original 993 bodyshell, fetched auction proceeds of €2,743,500. It was called at an estimated price of 154,473 euros. This value corresponds to the selling price of a 1998 911 Turbo S.
Net profit to the Jubilee Foundation
The one-of-a-kind model issued by Porsche Classic is already considered a sought-after collector's item. The net profit of around 2.59 million euros goes to the charitable Ferry Porsche Foundation. It was established this year to mark the anniversary of "70 years of Porsche sports cars".
As a special highlight for all 993 owners, Porsche Classic is also offering two original parts in the "Project Gold" look. With the new aluminum-look fuel filler cap, available for all 911 models from 1980 to 1998, and the tailpipe trim in black, Porsche customers can refine their vehicles on request.
