Opel: Let's swing with the lightning 🎥

Kadett, Manta and Ascona with the addition Swing were offered from 8425 German marks.
In the past, Swinger was more associated with the jazz style Swing or generally joy of life and entertainment. So it apparently made sense for Chrysler's marketing to offer the Dodge Dart with this designation for certain configurations starting in 1968.
A decade later, Opel also picked up on this expression and created special models of the Kadett, Manta and Ascona series with the addition of Swing.
Kadett from 8425 German marks
"Unusual in appearance and unusual in price," the advertisers texted, and the designers gave the special models striking colored decors.
Additional equipment elements made the special model even more attractive. For less extroverted buyers, the special versions were also available without décor, but still at a reasonable price, which for the 1975 Kadett, for example, was 8425 German marks.
Who owns an Opel Swinger?
And why did we come up with it now? Well, firstly, we came across a Dodge Dart Swinger a few years ago at the Steckborn-Eichhölzli hill climb, and secondly, we found the colorful advertising illustrations and the video quite by chance on the Internet these days.
Surely you, dear user, also have fun with the swinging cheerful idea of the people from the Blitz. Now we would only be interested if one of these special models with original stickers has survived. If so, the owner should please get in touch.
