Opel: A concept conquered the world
CLEVER, CLEVER For reasons of space economy, trucks have increasingly evolved from long-hoods to short-hoods and forward-controls as they have developed. Opel had this idea a long time ago.
At an auction, experts from Opel Classic have discovered unknown photos of a van of the brand from the 1930s. At that time, the company was the market leader in commercial vehicles.
At that time, however, all models had a classic body with a long hood and adjoining driver's cab.
Series-production van
The footage that has now surfaced shows that Opel had also long ago developed a production-ready Blitz series van in a forward-control design - many years before the concept became established worldwide.
