IWC: Own racing team and a new watch

In the future, Formula 1 legend David Coulthard, world champion Lewis Hamilton, his Mercedes GP teammate Valtteri Bottas, racing icon Jochen Mass, youngster Maro Engel and actually also Carmen Jordá are to alternate for the IWC Racing Team.
However, the blonde Spaniard had problems with her racing license last weekend at Goodwood. That's why Jordá wasn't allowed on the track.
Recently, she has attracted less attention for her racing successes than for her problematic comments about women and their ability to move Formula One cars - difficult for a newly appointed member of the FIA's Women in Motorsport Commission....
Winged through the finish
The IWC Racing Team's working machines are two Mercedes-Benz SL 300 "Gullwing" cars with starting number 68, which refers to the 1868 founding year of the watchmaking company, which was once built by an American.
David Coulthard was the first to drive the silver beauty at the 76th Members' Meeting at Goodwood. The Scotsman finished ninth in the Salvadori Cup after a ride in the lightly snow-covered landscape of the legendary circuit in southern England.
Both dream cars will be on display at further Classic Events. The gullwing cars are lovingly prepared by HK-Engineering in Polling (D) for the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center.
Time for a new watch
A limited edition watch was also presented to mark the occasion. The IWC Ingenieur Chronograph Sport Edition "76th Members' Meeting at Goodwood" (Ref. IW381201) is available 176 times. Some watches already found their buyers on the spot.
Special features are the details in Goodwood blue and the titanium case. The back was designed by chief designer Christian Knoop in the style of a brake disc.
