Special guest at the Open Cycle Racecourse in Oerlikon was Caroline Bugatti. The granddaughter of the company founder from Molsheim in Alsace came to Zurich in a Bugatti Type 43. She was happy to mingle with the public, answer questions from the media and, like more than 50 other drivers, did her laps on two, three and four wheels.
Two days before his 70th birthday (AutoSprintCH reported) Fredy Amweg also did the honors. The man from Aargau drove his Formula 2 homebuilt from 1976 around the oval. Roger Moser, Luciano Arnold and Hansueli Christen were other drivers with historic Formula 2 racing cars at the start.
Of course, the really old racing cars from the pre- and post-war period were particularly popular. The picture sheet by Jürg Streun lets you immerse yourself once again in the action at the Indianapolis Oerlikon 2019.
