Fiat 500
One of the masterpieces of Italian creativity is the Fiat 500, an ambassador for products made in Italy.

The Italian industrial design association Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (ADI) has opened a museum in Milan dedicated to the Compasso d'Oro design award. The award has been presented by ADI since 1958 and is now one of the most prestigious design prizes in the world.

2300 products and projects made in Italy
The new museum is part of a former industrial site with great architectural impact in the center of Milan. It displays a selection of objects from the Compasso d'Oro collection.

On display are more than 2300 products and projects. One of the masterpieces of Italian creativity is the iconic Fiat 500, an ambassador for products made in Italy.

Twice the design award
This image was reaffirmed in 2017 when a first-generation Fiat 500, which gave individual mobility to the Italian people (see gallery) starting in 1957, was added to the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

The historic Cinquecento received the design award in 1959, its successor in 2011. With the second generation built from 2007, the 500 also became an icon of Italian fashion.
