Ferrari: Testa Rossa J sprints with electricity 🎥
SMALL AND FINE As a highlight, a Ferrari Testa Rossa J will go under the hammer at Bonhams Quail Lodge Auction on August 19. The electrically powered car is a 75 percent reproduction of the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa.
The Pebble Beach Edition 2022 Ferrari Testa Rossa J, a 75 percent replica of the 1958 Testa Rossa 250 Le Mans Lucybelle II, will be sold at Bonhams' Silver Anniversary Auction.
Offers are expected to range from $90,000 to $120,000. At least the buyer can skip a long waiting list, because the production is strictly limited to a series of 299 units.
Memories of the number 22
The little racing car is powered by an electric motor. For production, Ferrari Centro Stile received support from model car specialist The Little Car Company. Each Testa Rossa J is made with manually beaten aluminum sheets - just like the original.
The 2022 Pebble Beach Edition Lucybelle II commemorates the successful 1958 number 22 car in which U.S. drivers Ed Hugus and Ray Ernie Erickson took the Le Mans victory.
The red leather upholstered seats were also made in the style of the Lucybelle, and the Nardi steering wheel is also based on the original. The gimbal tunnel has been removed so that an adult person and a child can sit side by side.
Range of up to 90 kilometers
The Manettino installed in the small Ferrari is similar to that of the 812 Superfast. It makes the four driving dynamics programs Novice, Comfort, Sport and Race available. This delivers power from 1 to 12 kW, and maximum speeds range from 24 to 80 km/h. The three batteries housed in the front of the car allow a range of about 90 kilomters.
