In 1922, five Citroën half-track vehicles were the first automobiles to cross the Sahara. Next year, the brand will commemorate the 100th anniversary of this event and start preparing for a new desert crossing.

Faithful replicas
The adventure vehicle of the year 2022 is the Ë.Popée electric car study. The faithful replicas of the Scarabée d'Or and the Croissant d'Argent are also to be part of the party. This was the name given to the K1 HP B2 models in 1922. Electrified series models will be used as escort vehicles.

Geopolitical events
The team will follow the historic route from December 19, 2022, to January 7, 2023, covering 3170 kilometers. In the process, the route will have to be adapted in part to geopolitical conditions. The goal is to complete the historic route in 21 days. -

With the necessary adjustments, these are the planned stages: 200 kilometers from Touggourt to Ouargala, 770 kilometers from Ouargala to In-Salah, 800 kilometers from In-Salah to Silet, 500 kilometers from Silet to Tin Zaouaten, 100 kilometers from Tin Zaouaten to Tin Toudaten, 100 kilometers from Tin Toudaten to Kidal, 350 kilometers from Kidal to Bourem, 100 kilometers from Bourem to Bamba and 250 kilometers from Bamba to Timbuktu.
