Baby II Pur Sang with a handmade aluminum body is designed for collectors.
The original Bugatti Baby was created in 1926, when Ettore Bugatti and his son Jean decided to put a miniature replica of the Type 35 on the little wheels of Ettore's youngest son Roland for his fourth birthday.
Actually, only a single copy was planned. But the consistently positive feedback from customers who had immediately noticed the little Bugatti during their visits to Molsheim meant that a series was put together. The vehicle was a sales hit between 1927 and 1936.

New edition for teenagers from 14 years
While the original Bugatti Baby was a 1:2 version of the car that made Ettore Bugatti famous in the 1920s, the new Bugatti Baby II offers more when it comes to size and performance.
While it is already rather difficult for eight-year-olds to get into the original 1:2 vehicle, the new edition was created for youngsters aged 14 and up.
Composite car bodies
The Bugatti Baby II is available in the basic version with a composite body and a 1.4-kWh battery or in the Vitesse version with a carbon-fiber body, 2.8-kWh battery and optimized powertrain, including speed key as on the Chiron 1.
Pur Sang variant with a handmade aluminum body is designed for collectors. The model has the same drive as the Vitesse. The same traditional techniques as the original Bugatti Type 35 are used in the production of the body.
Massive torque like a big one
The rear-wheel drive has remained, in addition, all Baby II are equipped with limited-slip differential, hydraulic high-performance brakes and selectable driving modes.
The basic model offers two different modes: a beginner mode with a power of 1 kW, where the speed is limited to 20 km/h, and a professional mode with 4 kW of power and a maximum speed of 45 km/h.
In the Vitesse and Pur Sang versions, the driver can also choose between beginner and professional driving modes; in addition, a special drive activated via the legendary Bugatti Speed Key provides extra performance.
This means that a total of up to 10 kW can be used and a torque of up to 828 Newton meters can be achieved at the rear wheels.
Up to 50 kilometers without intermediate charging
With a total weight of 230 kilograms, the Vitesse and Pur Sang models will in this mode, their Michelin rear wheels already spinning on the spot and reach a top of 70 km/h. Depending on the weight of the driver, the 60 km/h mark is cracked after six seconds.
With careful driving, the base model can cover a distance of up to 25 kilometers without intermediate charging. The larger battery of the Vitesse and Pur Sang manages twice that.
The driver can therefore look forward to a range of up to 50 kilometers. Provided he does not use the full power of his Baby II.
All replicas are functional
Other features of the Baby II include faithful, functional replicas of the original Type 35 instruments with a few modern innovations.
For example, the fuel gauge has been converted into a battery level indicator, and the oil level indicator into a power indicator.
The classic four-spoke steering wheel has also been recreated in the and now features a quick release for easier access to the cockpit.
On the hood the brand symbol
The turned aluminum dashboard from the Type 35 is also present, with the difference that custom "EB" switches for the LED headlights allow the choice between parking and driving lights.
And last but not least, the hood of each car is emblazoned with the famous Bugatti "Macaron," which, like the Chiron, is made of pure silver, only 25 percent smaller.
The Baby II is an authentic Bugatti
Andy Wallace, Le Mans winner and official test driver at Bugatti: "It would be easy to produce a car like this with a quarter of the quality. But that's what's so brilliant about this car: it's absolutely top quality, a work of art on wheels. The car is quite impressive and fun to drive, driving very much like the original Type 35. That makes it an authentic Bugatti, no question about it."
Prices for the basic Baby II model start at 30,000 euros, the Vitesse is available from 43,500 euros and the Pur Sang from 58,500 euros.
