Alfa Romeo: Victory again with Super Sport Zagato 🎥
MILLE MIGLIA 2022 Andrea Vasco and co-driver Fabio Salvinelli from the Villa Trasqua team finish the 40th edition of the world's most important classic car rally on 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Super Sport Zagato as winners.
With eleven victories between 1927 and 1957, Alfa Romeo is the most successful brand at the Mille Miglia, once the world's most prestigious road race. In 1977, the Mille Miglia was revived as a classic car rally and was now held for the 40th time.
And again a team drove to victory in the Alfa Romeo. Like last year, Andrea Vasco and co-driver Fabio Salvinelli were celebrated as the winners. The two Italians shared the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Super Sport with Zagato bodywork. A vehicle of this type won the Mille Miglia back in 1929.
Rally from Brescia to Rome and back
Traditionally, the route covers around 1600 kilometers (1,000 miles) from Brescia to the capital and back. The last stage led through places that play an important role for Alfa Romeo - such as the race tracks in Varano and in Monza. The classic car rally ended with the triumphant arrival at the finish line in Brescia, including the traditional parade on Viale Venezia.
Premiere for the Tonale electrified SUV
Tens of thousands of spectators followed the classic race cars along the route. The Alfa Romeo Tonale cars in the accompanying convoy also generated enthusiasm. The brand's first electrified SUV is making its debut at dealerships in many European countries these days. The Tonale was also very well received at the Mille Miglia.
