Mobile app recognizes passengers
The XiM23 is connected to a mobile app so that it recognizes passengers and adjusts its settings to the preferences set by the driver. As the driver approaches the vehicle, the front seats turn toward him and the rear seats slide forward. There are no screens in the interior, and the lighting is dimmed.
As soon as the XiM23 detects that the driver has taken a seat, the front seats move forward again and the previously invisible controls become visible on the steering wheel. At the same time, a slim display moves out of the instrument panel and two thin touch screens unfold from the center console.
Progress of autonomous driving
When the user is ready for a level four autonomous driving experience, all they need to do is click the illuminated Autodrive button on the steering wheel. For Yanfeng, this is a glimpse into the future that shows how the mobility experience can evolve as autonomous driving advances.
When the XiM23 transforms into a fully autonomous passenger compartment, the press release says the "multisensory experience will become even more intense." The atmosphere is further enhanced by headliner lighting and projections, while all four seats recline. In the rear, passengers enjoy a weightless seating position and massage.
