The instructors from Seelisberg will be setting out a special high-speed drift course on Monday, January 14. The course participants will be introduced to the high school of this sport by FIA drifting vice-champion Yves Meyer in their own cars.
From warm Morocco to wintry Ticino
Nico Müller joins them in the afternoon. The professional racer from Bern arrives directly from the Formula E race weekend in Morocco. He will be there next Sunday as a test driver for Audi Sport Team ABT Schaeffler.
Nico Müller: "There was no other way to schedule this exclusive event. We really value sporty driving and drifting and want to introduce some competitive spirit. That's why we are also planning a challenge with the participants.
Going to and beyond the limit
The price for participants is CHF 320. This includes coffee and croissants in the morning and lunch at the Motel Gottardo Süd. Accompanying persons must pay 50 francs.
Yves Meyer, owner and managing director of the event center in Seelisberg together with Joshua Reynolds since 1 January 2019, promises an eventful day.
Yves Meyer: "People are allowed to drive their cars freely at the limit and sometimes even beyond the limit. We also give them valuable tips for everyday life and teach them some tricks. They also get the chance to come into contact with a professional like Nico Müller and learn a lot about his work."
Only a few places left
In the following video, company founder Hans Schori demonstrates how to drift optimally on ice and snow at the wheel of a Mitsubishi Evo on the small circuit in Seelisberg. Regular driving courses are also offered there, but the speeds are not as high as those offered on the open terrain at Ambri airfield.
