Walther Wuttke: "Who will stop the car posers?"

Car posers want to attract attention through show-off attacks with high-horsepower models

Obviously, Corona has even increased the annoying appearances of the mostly young car fans. Through their show-off attacks with high-horsepower models (leasing makes it possible), they want to generate attention - whatever the cost.

Debt for passion
For this, they accept to be hopelessly in debt for their passion. This way of putting oneself on display is not new. Mr. Neanderthal probably already tried to attract the attention of Mrs. Neanderthal through special heroic deeds.

Cars permanently under lock and key
So far, the measures taken by the authorities to sideline the car posers have come to nothing. The cars confiscated by the police are soon back on the road and continue to annoy. Why don't these models remain permanently under lock and key?

Race track is not a solution
The suggestion of National Councilor Gabriela Suter (SP) to install "noise speed cameras" is not a solution either. Dear Ms. Suter: If Switzerland doesn't need something, it's additional speed cameras. A racetrack, as suggested by Tuning Association President Eugen Engeler, will not solve the problem either.

Spectators play important role
After all, the posers are just looking for the public to present themselves. Without spectators on a circuit, all this showing off is pointless. Unfortunately, there is no cure for these excesses. In the end, the only thing left to do is to make life more and more difficult for these self-promoters until they realize that they are being sidelined with their appearances. So who will finally stop the car posers?
