Volvo Switzerland registered a total of 4048 vehicles, an increase of over eight percent compared to the same period last year. The number of new customer contracts for a total of 4,800 vehicles rose even more sharply in the first six months, an increase of 27 percent compared with the previous year. Of these contracts, 481 were for plug-in hybrid models.
Model range well received by Swiss customers
Natalie Robyn, Managing Director at Volvo Car Switzerland AG: "We are very pleased that we were able to continue our success from the previous fiscal year in the first half of 2018. Following the current sales trend, we will also clearly exceed the 7497 new registrations from 2017 by the end of the year. It is now apparent that our completely restructured model range is being very well received by Swiss customers."
More than 480, or around twelve percent, of the total of 4048 new Volvo registrations are so-called twin-engine models. The Swedish manufacturer sold by far the most plug-in hybrid vehicles in Switzerland in the first half of the year.
