Volvo was the first car manufacturer to crash-test child seats back in the early 1960s. In the meantime, the manufacturer has a long tradition of developing, testing and introducing new safety systems for smaller occupants - from infant carriers and child seats to active and passive assistance systems that prevent accidents or at least mitigate their severity. Recommendations for use also inform parents about sources of danger and how to transport their offspring safely.
Suitable seats are available for all major age groups
The seats, which were developed in conjunction with child seat manufacturer Britax-Römer, feature breathable and comfortable 80 percent wool padding that is comfortable and durable. Prices at a glance: Baby seat 308 francs, ISOFIX base baby seat 157 francs, rear-facing child seat 454 francs and forward-facing child seat 308 francs. The seats, which have been extensively tested at Volvo's Safety Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden, are now available in Switzerland for all age groups.
