In cooperation with various organizations and specialist conversion companies, Volkswagen offers a version of the Golf Variant that can be used by people with disabilities, for example.

Since 2013, Volkswagen and Driveswiss Handicap (by Procap), in collaboration with other partners, have been providing an all-round solution for people with disabilities. All relevant partners are represented at the VW stand B 2031 in Hall 2.0 and provide competent information on how to obtain a driver's license, purchase a vehicle and convert it for independent mobility.

Complete service
All-round - that means seamless support from the moment you want to drive: assistance at the road traffic office, advice on the right vehicle conversion, driving training with specially trained driving instructors in 13 cantons and, last but not least, five 1.4 l TSI Golf Variant from Volkswagen for driving training.

Special conversions
Thanks to state-of-the-art handicap driving assistance aids, these vehicles meet the requirements of around 80 percent of possible driving impairments. The conversion of the Golf Variant includes the accelerator and brake lever, a central commander with lighting for operating the lights, indicators, horn and windscreen wiper functions, a steering wheel button and an electronically switchable accelerator pedal on the left.

Additional discount
Volkswagen is reaffirming its commitment with an additional 3% discount for drivers with a disability when purchasing a new VW model. Ex-Miss Handicap Jasmin Rechsteiner also knows the value of independent mobility. She drives a VW Touran 1.4 TSI Comfortline and appreciates the solutions tailored to her needs for her independent mobility. The lifting crane for her 140-kilogram wheelchair and the integrated parking heater are particularly important for Jasmin Rechsteiner: "Especially in the colder winter months, I'm glad that I have a parking heater in my Touran and can use it to preheat the interior due to my lung restrictions.

VW ambassador at the stand
Jasmin Rechsteiner will be at the VW stand on both days of Swiss Handicap 2017. All relevant partners will also be on site to provide expert information.
