Volkswagen is supporting Driveswiss with five Volkswagen Golf 1.4 TSI Variant with 150 PS, which have been converted into driving school vehicles for people with physical or neurological disabilities. The Driveswiss Handicap platform not only helps people with a disability with the clarifications needed to (re)gain the ability to drive. In addition to providing driving instructors in various regions of Switzerland, converted vehicles are also made available for driving training in collaboration with Volkswagen.
Important partners here are the vehicle conversion companies Trütsch-Fahrzeug-Umbauten, Mobilcenter von Rotz and Kirchhoff Mobility. They equip the vehicles with handicap driving assistance aids. These include a floor-mounted accelerator/brake lever with parking brake, a 5-function keypad for operating the lights, indicators and horn, universal infrared controls with eleven functions, a steering wheel handle and left-hand throttle control
