Polo TGI
A truck stands on the already narrow road. The VW Polo TGI gets through without any problems with its 1751 millimeters.

We have already experienced many adventures with our permanent test vehicle, the natural gas-powered VW Polo TGI. Now we have ventured with it into the urban jungle. It feels particularly at home in this terrain.

Compact despite its new size
At almost exactly four meters long (exactly 4053 millimeters), the sixth generation presented in 2017 is, according to Volkswagen, "the largest Polo of all time". Nevertheless, it has remained an extremely compact car, which comes into its own in the city.
The wheelbase also grew by 94 to 2564 millimeters compared with the predecessor, making it more comfortable. Thanks to the good (and light) steering angle, this did not detract from the maneuverability. With the width of 1751 millimeters, you can drive past trucks even in narrow streets without breaking a sweat.

Assistance systems help the driver
Everything a city dweller needs It's great that our Comfortline equipment line includes everything as standard that is helpful in the city. For example, ACC adaptive cruise control with Front Assist environment monitoring system including city emergency braking function and pedestrian detection. The Rear View camera, which is useful for parking and reversing, and the front and rear parking distance control (with clear graphic display when driving slowly forward) are also extremely practical.

Natural gas supply is not a problem
And all Polo engines - including the newly developed 1.0 TGI with 90 hp three-cylinder natural gas engine - are equipped with a start-stop system, so that the environment is protected, especially in the city with its many traffic lights.

Speaking of the environment, natural gas supplies are particularly good in cities. Not only is it more environmentally friendly, it's also more economical to drive. Our average consumption was 3.65 kilos per 100 kilometers. The VW Polo TGI with natural gas drive starts at a price of 24,350 francs.
