In a joint appearance with various partner associations, the Swiss Garagist Association is focusing on its training expertise.
World class
Swiss apprentices are world class. This was recently demonstrated at the WorldSkills in Abu Dhabi, where the Swiss delegation shone with 11 gold medals (plus 6x silver and 3x bronze) (AutoSprint.CH reported). In the so-called "Association Village" right at the entrance to the Swiss Commercial Vehicle Show, the AGVS, the commercial vehicle association Astag, auto-schweiz, the carrossier association VSCI, Les Routiers Suisses, the Association of Swiss Transport Dispatchers (VSTD) and the Swiss Automotive Aftermarket (SAA) share an exhibition area of 400 square meters.
New appearance
With its new professional image, the AGVS is recruiting young talent and presenting the professions of automotive mechatronics technician (NFZ) and automotive specialist (NFZ). A total of 4,000 companies with 39,000 employees are affiliated with the Swiss Garages Association, of which 8,500 alone are in training and continuing education.
Participate actively
At the center of the association's village at transport-CH is the transport course: visitors have the opportunity to assemble a small model truck, decorate it and have it driven around the course. Afterwards, the model can be taken home as a souvenir. "We are aiming this at young visitors to the trade fair in order to motivate them to take up one of our professions," says AGVS project manager Sandra Nützi.
