Reductions in consumption and emissions
In 2019, more customers again opted for Toyota's innovative self-charging hybrid system compared with the prior-year period. The system, which has already seen more than 13 million hybrid vehicles sold by the Toyota Group worldwide since its launch, reduces fuel consumption and emissions.
Customers increasingly opt for hybrid
In the overall Swiss market, hybrid systems, which combine an electric engine and a gasoline engine, increased by 29.6 percent in the first quarter. At Toyota, the share of customers choosing the hybrid system for passenger cars increased to 62 percent from 59 percent in the first quarter of 2018.
