Mirai
The new Mirai stands out with its low silhouette, elegant proportions and large 20-inch wheels.

The Mirai to date has raised the world's awareness of the possibility of hydrogen-based clean and sustainable mobility. It is a technically sophisticated yet very practical vehicle with a range of around 500 kilometers, easy refueling in a few minutes, and no emissions other than pure water.

First view of progress
Some 10,000 units of the Mirai have been sold since its launch, while Toyota has promoted the development of a hydrogen infrastructure in key markets worldwide.

But that was just the beginning. At the Tokyo Motor Show, Toyota is now offering a first glimpse of the comprehensive progress with the new Mirai in cutting-edge technology, dynamic features and striking design.

System improvements
Market launch is planned for 2020, first in Japan, the USA and Europe. The new Mirai will be much more than just an ecological car and shows that its FCEV technology can very well go hand in hand with driving pleasure and good looks.

Efficiency remains an important criterion. Toyota is aiming for a 30 percent increase in range through improvements in the fuel cell system and the use of larger hydrogen tanks.

The interior presents itself as a pure, modern space with warm, comfortable ambiance.

Custom blue paint
The new Mirai immediately catches the eye with its exterior design. The vehicle on display is given a specially developed blue paint finish that radiates exceptional depth and brilliance through multiple layers.

The main elements of the interior are a 12.3-inch central display and a dashboard that curves around the driver. The new platform and smart packaging allow for five seats compared to the previous Mirai's four.

Improvements in fuel cells
In addition to the longer range, the improvements in fuel cell performance also give the Mirai a spontaneous response when pulling away and a confident driving feel, with a clear link between throttle pressure and acceleration. Handling on winding roads is playfully light, and on highway stretches a sense of power can be felt in every situation.

Mirai
Realizing a more emotional, eye-catching design is one of the advantages of the rear-wheel drive platform.
