Walther Wuttke: "Save the Geneva Salon".

Geneva Salon
The Geneva Motor Show always opens the automotive year. As a rule, 600,000 visitors are expected.

Now they are facing a loss of eleven million francs after the cancellation of the Salon. After the organizers rejected the loan from the Canton of Geneva (16.8 million Swiss francs) in view of the conditions attached to it, one of the world's most important automobile trade fairs is facing extinction.

Geneva is more than just a trade fair
Many exhibitors are also considering not returning to Lake Geneva for another two years. This must not happen.

"Geneva" has always been more than just one trade show among many. "Geneva" was a preview of the coming automotive year and at the same time an indispensable communication meeting and contact exchange for the industry.

The digital world is no substitute
And this despite the fact that the city and the canton did not make it easy for visitors to get to the fair and kept coming up with new harassments. Not to mention the price gouging by the local hotel industry.

Going out into the digital world cannot replace experiencing the innovations. For Swiss importers, the show is also an important sales platform that they cannot do without.

The car world needs the salon
Especially not in the hopefully better times after Corona. Therefore: Get together and find a solution to save the Salon. The automotive world needs the Geneva Motor Show.
