The strengths and weaknesses of the various test products were determined on the basis of 18 practical test criteria and 24 tire models were rated "recommended" or better. Only four tested tire types were not convincing and were rated "conditionally recommendable" or worse.
Noise, consumption and wear
The tires also had to prove themselves in terms of noise development, fuel consumption and wear. In this extensive and demanding test procedure, 24 of the 28 tire types tested were rated "recommended" or better.
Good values for dimension 175/65 R14
TCS tested twelve products in the 175/65 R14 tire dimension. Two of the twelve models were rated as "highly recommended", eight as "recommended" and one tire each as "conditionally recommended" and "not recommended". The reasons for the downgrading of the individual tires are almost always disadvantages in the wet or on snow. Tip: Before deciding on a particular tire, you should study the detailed results that you can find on the Internet.
