TCS: Mileage costs also for electric cars
CAR COSTS REMAIN STABLE According to TCS calculations, drivers can expect average kilometer costs of 71 centimes per kilometer in the current year. This also applies to purely electric vehicles. For the first time, the Touring Club has calculated not only the average mileage costs, but also the total costs of the best-selling passenger cars last year - including electric cars. The results show that the higher the mileage, the greater the savings potential for electric vehicles. The average TCS vehicle costs 35,000 Swiss francs and drives 15,000 kilometers per year. Its cost per kilometer will still be 71 centimes per kilometer in 2020.
Low costs for electric vehicles
Electric vehicles, which are usually charged overnight at home, have very low energy costs. According to the cost calculation for ten years and 150,000 kilometers of mileage, it is possible to save up to 20,000 francs in refueling costs compared to comparable gasoline or diesel vehicles. Further savings are possible through lower service costs and lower motor vehicle taxes in individual cantons. This can partially compensate for the still higher purchase costs of electric vehicles. The approximate cost per kilometer in 2020 for any given vehicle can be taken in simplified form from the diagram at www.tcs.ch.
