With a strong commitment to road safety and in transport policy, TCS has been able to work for the benefit of its members.
This was not only reflected in a positive annual financial statement, but also allowed TCS to confirm the positive trend in TCS membership in 2019 and to increase membership numbers again for the second year in a row. Compared to the previous year, the number of members increased by more than a remarkable 21,000.
Good prospects for the future as well
The successful year 2019 allows the TCS to approach the future with confidence despite the Corona crisis. Or as Central President Peter Goetschi and General Director Jürg Wittwer put it in their joint letter to the delegates: "The foundation is stable and, building on this, we can approach the future with confidence."
New names on the Board of Directors
In the elections or re-elections to the 24-member Board of Directors, the long-standing Board members and Vice Presidents Thierry Burkart (Aargau Section) and Carlo Vitalini (Ticino Section) had to be replaced this year. Patrick Gosteli (Aargau Section) and Fabio Stampanoni (Ticino Section) were elected to the Board of Directors in their place.
The five existing members Marcel Aebischer (St-Gallen-Appenzell Section), Peter Bohnenblust (Biel/Bienne-Seeland Section), Armin Candinas (Grisons Section), Doris Iselin (Schaffhausen Section) and Thomas Lüthy (Zurich Section) were elected for a further three-year term of office.
