The AGVS is again expecting a full house at the Kursaal in Bern for the next "Garagists' Day".

At the meeting of the garage owners in the Kursaal, political scientist Claude Longchamp will use the current environmental debate as a basis for demonstrating to almost 800 guests how and why social trends arise and what effects they have.

Why you shouldn't miss the event, explains Urs Wernli, Central President of the AGVS, in an interview

Where do you see the impact of the environmental debate on the Swiss automotive industry?
Urs Wernli: "Socially, it influences the behavior of motorized road users, and politically, it has an impact on the composition of parliament and legislation. The automotive industry is directly affected by this - and so are AGVS members."

Central President Urs Wernli expects concrete and implementable advice for the work of the garage owners.

Pascal Previdoli from the Swiss Federal Office of Energy will be a speaker. Why?
Urs Wernli: "We attach great importance to his participation. We want to show that bridges are constantly being built between our industry and the authorities. We can better master the upcoming challenges together. That's why we see this dialog as a sign to contribute to the solution."

What is the role of Jürg Röthlisberger, Director of the Federal Roads Office?
Urs Wernli: "The AGVS is constructively involved in environmental and transport policy. Astra can have a significant influence on the development of individual mobility. So it will be exciting to hear from the boss himself how he sees the development and where he will pull the levers next."

The AGVS presents the results of a market research. What is the background?
Urs Wernli: "Our members are in daily contact with their customers and receive direct feedback. These are individual and important snapshots for every business. With the survey of motorists, we want to present our members with supplementary clues for the near future. That is why we have commissioned Link, a renowned market research institute, to investigate the position of the garage owner among customers on a representative basis. We expect to gain many concrete indications that will allow our members to respond more closely to the needs of their customers."

What is the task of Michael Jost from Volkswagen at the event of the Swiss garage owners?
Urs Wernli: "It is fantastic that we have managed to engage Volkswagen's chief strategist for a presentation. It should be exciting to learn how the brand wants to transform itself from a manufacturer to a mobility service provider and what that means for the trade. This is not only interesting for VW dealers, but for the entire industry. Opportunities to get that kind of information firsthand are rare."
